LightMan Player is a light program that offers to play digital media files. As it comes with the most recent codecs, it can play virtually any popular media file type. In addition, it also supports playing streamed content from the Internet.
In my opinion, this application has a really ugly interface. It has two non-squared windows, whose borders are not properly shown, as they look torn against the background. One of these windows hosts the playing controls, a series of buttons using the standard icons. This choice by the developers eases this program operation, which means that if you have used any media player before or even an old VCR, you will not find any difficulty in using this program’s basic functions. In addition, there are other controls to adjust the volume, activate shuffling and enable repetition. The other window shows the playlist, to which you can add individual files or complete folders. There is also a third window, in which videos are played.
My main objection to LightMan Player is related to the many run-time errors I encountered while using it. In this respect, these errors almost made it impossible for me to play any media file, so I cannot really tell whether the program can play as many file types as its developers claim.
As a whole, LightMan Player is no competition for other available media players, so I would not recommend it to anyone, not even to download it and try it.
